APISENSE
Apisense is the world’s first solution that combines artificial intelligence, IoT sensors, and satellite data, enabling beekeepers to proactively respond to bee health threats.
Apisense strives to revolutionize global beekeeping through the digital transformation of the industry, contributing to the protection of the global ecosystem and ensuring food security for future generations.
The mission of Apisense is to provide beekeepers with innovative yet easy-to-use tools that enable early detection of bee diseases, reduce the use of chemicals, and lower the operational costs of managing apiaries. We educate and support beekeepers in transitioning to more efficient and modern working methods.
Every year, millions of bees die from diseases such as Varroa, American foulbrood (AFB), European foulbrood (EFB), and Nosema. Most diagnostic methods detect them too late.
We decided to change this by using the latest technologies for the early diagnosis of bee diseases.
The idea for Apisense was born as a response to the global bee health crisis, combined with a passion for technology and ecology.
In 2022, the research team began working on the concept of a device for early detection of bee diseases.
A year later, in 2023, Apisense partnered with universities and industry experts, launching studies focused on detecting the Varroa parasite.
In 2024, we carried out the first field tests in academic and private apiaries, focusing on the early detection of Nosema and American Foulbrood.
By 2025, our device and AI algorithms had proven their effectiveness across different climate conditions and beekeeping practices. We also expanded our research to new threats such as Chalkbrood and deformed wing virus, and conducted tests enabling the detection of swarming tendencies.
As a result, we achieved an impressive 95% effectiveness in the preventive detection of bee diseases.
