Implementation of R&D works to develop an innovative method for detecting hive infection with Nosema through the use of IoT sensors designed specifically for the study.
Implemented tasks and activities:
- Purchase of an R&D service covering the development of an innovative method for detecting Nosema infection using IoT sensors measuring CO₂, VOC, temperature, and humidity.
- Implementation of machine learning models for analyzing the collected data.
- Purchase of services related to intellectual property protection (patenting).
Target group: Beekeepers
Project objective:
Creation of an innovative solution for the early detection of Nosema disease in hives, enabling faster response and reducing economic losses for beekeepers.
Support for biodiversity protection by improving the health of bee populations.
Effects and results:
Development of a new product using IoT and AI for hive monitoring. Increased resistance of bee populations to diseases and support for sustainable agriculture.
Implementation period: 01.02.2024 - 31.01.2025

Beneficiary name: Apisense Sp. z o.o.
Project title: Preparation of an application for an EUROGRANT and participation of the applicant in the EIC program for the project: “Development of a solution for detecting, tracking, and predicting the spread of foulbrood in bees to prevent disease transmission using IoT devices, satellite technology, and artificial intelligence.”
Implemented tasks and activities:
- Specialized analyses in the areas of technology, market, and finance.
- State-of-the-art and patent clearance analysis (Freedom to Operate – FTO).
- Development of a business model.
- Organization of meetings related to building the project team.
- Preparation of application documentation:

⦁ Development of promotional materials, including a pitch deck and video presentation,
⦁ Commissioning of external consulting services and specialized analyses.
Target group: A micro, small, or medium-sized enterprise (SME) developing innovative technologies (Apisense Sp. z o.o.)
Project objectives: The aim of the activity is to prepare Apisense Sp. z o.o. for the successful submission of a Full Application in the EIC Accelerator program, which will enable the development of an innovative bee health monitoring system.
Effects and results:
- Preparation of a complete application for the EIC Accelerator program, including:

- Increased chances of obtaining funding from the EIC Accelerator program, contributing to the growth of Apisense.
- Building a cooperation network with industry and scientific partners.
